A friend called me to say he wanted to trade a Ford front D60 + rear Sterling for my 38.5's Boggers/wheels. When i got to see these in his garage i found out it was not a D60. I am not sure it is a D70 but definetly it is beefier than a D60. It came out of a 2006 Suyper duty Diesel.... So:
1.- What axle is it? The rear is a Sterling. However the yoke nut on the front axle is 1-5/16. So it is not a D50. What axle is it?

2.- Is this a good option for a Wagoneer runining 38's and a 360 engine?? It looks very very heavy axle...?

It was under a 2006 250 Super Duty Diesel... This axle is 8 lugs. The housing looks beefier than a D60.. So can i be sure it is a D60??

It's not just any old 60, it's a fully 35 spline 60 being an 05+

Only downside to the axle are the unit bearing hubs are pricey to replace, but your rig is relatively light weight so it shouldn't be that big of an issue.

X2. Only downside is BJ and unit bearing hubs. But the UB hubs are growing on me.

There are no downsides, other then the ridiculously short drivers side axle tube! :flipoff2:

That's right. Well i just got it. I got the front and rear axles + wheels and tires. I plan to do a custom 4 link and coil conversion on the Waggy.

So here i go.

As always thanks to everyone for your info!

Sounds good, post up some pics. I wish mine came with a set of rollers for it, would make luggin them around the garage a whole lot easier.

they aren't extremely heavy, I can move my D60 w/o fluid with two people. The sterling is a bit heavier. Yours is also 3" wider or something along those lines.

Funny though, the install shop called and told me I had a D50 after I had dropped it off and left lol. Needless to say, they were corrected multiple times.
