Floor Jacks

Ok, I have a floor jack that will lift when you pump it, however it falls right back down. has anyone ever rebuilt there own jack? is there something obvious that I should look for? I hate to replace it if it is fixable.

Don't know but my Torin (sp?) jack has done that since the day I bought it. Annoying to say the least.

I had two 3 ton Craftsman's do that to me in the last year.
