: Chip for a '93 YJ 2.5L

I know best option would to be to go with a complete swap, but for everything but highway driving, my little rig does great.

Anyone know of a chip for a 93 YJ 2.5L ? I've been looking and searching all over the damned place, and so far it doesn't seem like it exists. Figure I'd ask here, and see how it goes.

My future plans do include going with an engine swap, but I have more important things to consider first (axles, tranny, gearing). So I'm just looking to bump up the higher RPM power a bit without taking out the lower (like putting a huge exhaust that will most likely be torn off on the trail on).

Thanks in advance.

my 91 YJ had a 4cyl originally, i had 33's on the stock axles. a Throttle body spacer, better inatke and performance muffler did good. not mcuh power to be made so don't expect much of anything. i also had one of those el-cheapo e bay "juice" chips and it did fuck all.

with all those mods i had a bit more power 2% maybe 5hp? and motor reved a bit easier.

go with better gearing that will make up a significant amount of power for highway driving. i had 4.88 in the axles for a short time and it was a very nice change with 33's.

Yeah that sounds like the best bet for me. I really don't want to put a lot of money into the D35 however, and was looking for ways of getting a little more juice out of the motor otherwise.

I check out www.4bangerjp.com which is a forum for the 2.5L Jeeps, and they have some good ideas, I just know Pirate has a much wider audience, hence asking it here.

Think I'm going to swap out for a 4.0L throttle body and perhaps get a better intake. Then eventually I'll do the gearing... but I want to put an 8.8 or something else on there beforehand. (I don't want to regear and then in not too much time dump the axle).

Just be happy untill you change motor's it is a 4 cyl. You are going to need to replace the axle with the motor anyways so just wait.
