This morning the Tin Benders headed out to do Last Chance Canyon as a shake down for Snake Charmer (who totaled at TDS), and a DAY run for Fattkid. Eight rigs headed out and just about there, while still on pavement at 55mph, Snake Charmer did a left side two wheel maneuver that looked like he was going to try out his new Tin Bender/Fattkid built roll cage!!!!!!!! The steeering column seperated !!! Got it stopped and welded the shaft--- Hot Rod cut the sidewall on a rear tire, Stomper tore a bit of his sun shade top on a lay-over, Weatherman's teen age daughter did a great job of driveing the XJ !! (in spite of haveing her dad as spotter !), Snake Charmer tore both new front fender flairs loose and broke an ARB line, Fatkid got a few more dents and scrapes, Tin Bender on the other hand--- welllll-- layed it over on the side, dented both front fenders, both rear fenders, creased the right door, caved in and 'can openered' the left door, and broke off the front half of the left rear leaf spring !!! (took tie down straps to hold the rear axle fore and aft), and finished the trail. !!! Porch Puppy and a 'newbie' ran clean !! Eight rigs and 14 people---- a warm, perfect day in the desert haveing fun!!!!!

It's hard to see from where Krusty took the pics, but your climb'n pretty good when you make the corner where Fat Kid is. He's right on the edge of go'n over. In fact he did on the last night run...lol That little Sammy Flex's pretty good, right @1000 on a 23..
I'm with Fat Kid, Flex is HIGHLY over rated, hell I ramp a 560 and can more than hold my own....

Like Mike said, my truck is still down, I got the New motor in and got about 10 minutes on it in the driveway, then 200 feet on it in the street before it started knocking... Peter, it sounds like you have the same
problem I had with my long block. It started
knocking shortly after I put it in in June.
Turns out the machine shop got some bad pistons,
cause they had a half-dozen blocks with the
same problem. Good luck with the motor.

I was hopeing that I would have the 'new' ride done by Frostober-- doesn't look like it <IMG SRC="smilies/frown.gif" border="0"> But the work is progressing.
Just wanted a rig that would DO IT instead of driveing out, walking/takeing pics !!
EXTRA seats ??---- ie: last run- 8 rigs/12 peoples(two kids) ALWAYS extra seats !!!!
Last Chance Canyon is a great run!!!!- can be done in a bone stock --or you can bite off as much as you can chew !(or choke on)!!!
"stockers" are never more than 50' from the impossible lines !!! You can jump off an old rail road(mine) grade at any point and ATTEMPT any point you want to try ! PHOTO OPP'S are abundant !!!

Not yet, pulled out the 110lb springs and now have 350/350lb springs, still a bit to soft, Thinking about adding a Anti-Rock sway bar to it, havn't decided what to do yet.

Like Mike said, my truck is still down, I got the New motor in and got about 10 minutes on it in the driveway, then 200 feet on it in the street before it started knocking...
