ok I jsut spent a lot of money putting new dana 44's front and back on my wrangler. but now I want a dana 60! in the rear. I know i should have done that to begin with.

here is my delima. I used wagonneer/cherokee axles with the 6 on 5.50 bolt pattern..... I also bought some REALLY nice bead locks for them. I don't want to have to buy a new set of bead locks for the new axle.

so my question is: can I re-drill a dana 60 full floater to 6 on 5.5 bolt patter from the 8 lug pattern? I know some people are probably going to holler at me for this question but those beadlocks were expensive.

I know I can make the front dana 44 into 8 lug but can I make the rear dana 60 into 6 lug?

I did search before posting. I searched for redril dana 60 and didn't come up with anything about a full floater, or semi.

any ideas any one?

fine, I couldn't find anything either:flipoff2:

option 1:

cutoff the ff spindles, and put on old skool D44 rear axle flanges. these flanges have the same bolt pattern as front spindles. this allows you use front hubs and internal locking hubs. the Warn 1/2 ton premium hubs can be converted to 30 spline using the internal mechanisim from 1 ton std. hubs, or you can just buy the 30 spline drive plates from Warn.

option 2:

use tubes, spindles and hubs from a 14 bolt, since the they use a 4.25" hub, and you should be able to eek a 5.5" bolt pattern on the hub without too much trouble

really though, you should be way more than fine with a SF D60. just chop the ends off of the ff60 and have the big bearing Ford 9" ends put on.

A buddy converted a 14 bolt ff to the 6 on 5.5 pattern....what he did was take the hubs off and have them turned down as well as the bolt flange on the axle then he used a stock halfton 6 lug rotor and had the hub re-drilled, then he used allen head bolts with safty wire wraped threw all the bolt heads cause they kept workin loose.
