: Beefing up springs

Looking at possibly adding a leaf or two to the primary pack on my '89 F-350 dump truck. Right now is sits empty with the overload springs about 1/4 inch or less from touching so any bounce at all puts it onto the overloads which don't hardly flex at all. This leads to a very rough bouncy ride when empty. I know the airbags would be :smokin:, but if slipping in a leaf or two would lift it up just enough to keep the overloads from kicking in while empty it might be a cheaper/easier way to accomplish the same thing. Any other suggestions or thoughts on this would be appreciated!

You can do bags for about $200

or if your set on adding leafs remember to add in new center pins and new ubolts.

Would a set of air shocks serve the same purpose? Or is it better to keep the lift and the shocks seperate?
