hey guys, just bought an hp 60 from a 78 250 fighter, bought it dissasembled, came with new spicer 35 spline outers and warn drive flanges I did a lil' research and found out that the outer are made for a gm/dodge. dont really want to swap to knuckle out chevy. dont want to cut and machine the outers, I heard you can make a spacer to fit behind the spindle to make up the .600 space. anyone heard or done this,
thanks.
buy ford specific 35 spline outers
.6" is a long way to space something

X2, sell the chev outers and buy the ford ones, easier and probably cheaper in the long run.
spacers are going to playhavoc with your brakes too, unless you space those out as well.

Ding ding ding. Don't space that shit out that much for fucks sake. Trim the stubs and cut in a new snap-ring groove. Thats what we all did for years.

Why don't you want to cut them?
Thats stupid to sell the part, and buy another.
All the "Ford" ones are, are the Chevy ones cut down.

Well talked to the dude who sold me the stuff, he said the outers are yukon ford 35 splines, not spicer, i guess i'll install them and see what happens.
does anybody know the measurments for the ford outers?

Had to grind a little over a 1/4" on mine to fit. Otherwise the flanges don't seal right and put the inner ears on the housing. which is no good.
I was told that the 35 spline outers are a for really a ford 70 stub shaft. That is why the size is different.

the yukon ford stubs are a direct fit, no modification neccesary.
