did some junkyard shopping this weekend- found me a 7 blade fan to replace my 5. I notice in the install that my lower rad hose has some damage to it, so I change it which involves draining all fluid (water/purple ice coolant additive). Get the hose done and everything put back to gether and the truck is running almost too cool.

It is staying b/w 100-160. haven't driven it far but even just driveing it to work (5 miles or so) it has always gotten completely warmed up to 190, espec in 80-90 degree weather.

I pulled the temp send unit (mechanical) out of the intake and water squirted out around it. I thought maybe there was an air pocket there? nope.

What do you guys think?

see my sig for my rig info-

TIA, :rasta:

Sounds like the thermostat is stuck partially open.

when your wheelin, your engine is at higher rpms, with general more strain. This lower temapture could be a asset on the trails. Less likely for your engine to die.
But for the street, the open stat. would more than likely be your problem. Get a new one. You should look for somthing in the 170 to 180 range. Would keep your rig happy
