Asking $3300 OBO
I’m putting a feeler out there for my 1985 4Runner and it breaks my heart. I recently moved out to PA and I don’t have the space or time for 2 vehicles until I buy a house. I know once I get a house with a garage, I’ll go out and get another 1st gen, but right now, I need to simplify and consolidate to 1 vehicle (getting an ’07 Tacoma DC Off-Road).
The truck is in Southern NJ (Medford/Shamong area) so it’s a Northeast truck. There is some frame surface rust, a tiny bit above the rear quarters, but besides that, you wouldn’t believe this truck has original red paint and is from the Northeast. Being it is a Northeast truck and the demand is quite high, some of you will find my asking price high. But I’m also not totally sure on selling it, so I won’t let it go for anything less than I think I can get around here. 85’s are hard to come by, especially in the NE and ones that aren’t totally stock or dedicated trail rigs. This one falls right in the middle. I used it to go camping and exploring in the Pine Barrens, and at the beach to pick up chicks, but never rock-crawled.
Narrative aside, here are the facts:
- 134k original miles, no rebuild, starts and run great
- Auto tranny
- Stock gears
- 33” x 10.5” BFG M/T Tires (comes with brand new 33” x 10.5” spare)
- Downey 3” leafs all around
- Roger Brown 2” Body lift
- Roger Brown drivetrain lift
- Topper windows tinted dark
- Red paint, tan interior
- Kenwood Excelon MP3 CD Player, Infinity Reference 4” front speakers
New stuff:
- Optima Red Top battery (installed last weekend)
- Denso OEM Alternator (not cheapo knockoff, installed last weekend)
- 3 Core Radiator, hoses, 2 stage Celica thermostat (installed last weekend)
- Full tune up (about 6 months ago but I barely drove the truck after that)
- Diffs flushed and filled (about 6 months ago, same time as tune up)
- Exhaust downpipe (replaced 6 months ago for inspection)
It could probably use a re-gear at some point, as with the lift, tires, and auto tranny, it’s a grandma on the highway.
I will get some better pictures up here later tonight.
