I just got my jeep, a 86 xj 2.8 with 199,000 miles, I dont have much money and want to fit 35's.
What is the cheapest way to fit 35's!
I am thinking 3 inch lift shackles and 3 in blocks for the rear, and f150 coil and 3 in spacers in the front.
Also my friend said that licoln lockers are the cheapest locker for the rear.
My friend said I had a dana 35, anyone ever ran one of these lockers and what did you think?

best bang for the buck is always the body lift, typicaly $100.
lincoln lockers are great, they are a shear shaft locker design, once installed they will out last the axle a 1000x over.

teh cheapest way to fit 35"s,
how much is electricity? $.30 an hour?
you could fit 35"s for about $1.00 with a sawzall.

Just don't waste too much money on a Cherokee with a 2.8L. You should go to the junk yard and get some F150 coils and a couple leafs out of a cheap Japanese truck that is Spring Under, cut the fenders out with a sawzall, and wheel the piss out of it. I had alot of fun with my first Cherokee. Also, become very familiar with the the almighty SEARCH.:flipoff2:

So I am thinking of just doing a body lift and some sawzall cutting.
but I am having a hard time finding a body lift for a cherokee.
My friend will sell me a body lift for a wrangler for cheap, how hard would it be to make that work on a cherokee?

first climb under your heep and count all the body mounts. then ask your friend how many mounts the wrangler has .I BET IT WILL WORK!:shaking::flipoff2:

my last cherokee had a 2" body lift and i fit 37's no problem. with the 2.8l engine youll want to buy the adjustable power band from kaleco auto, you might also email them about the body lift, i know they stock the chin nuts youll need to use the wrangler body lift kit...

Don't do anything! You have a lot to learn about your jeep and what its capable of now and what its parts are capable of. Spend time on here reading, no posting till you've read a lot more. As for the body lift, figure out what a body lift is and go look and see where your gonna put it. IF this was a joke its pretty funny.

So i thing I figured out that you can't body lift an xj cause it is a unibody?
So I guess I will just buy 3 inch blocks and f-150 springs and some sawzall cutting and through some 35's on there.
So I guess now my ? is where can I find a good deal on a lincoln locker?
I dont know much about offroading but I know lockers are the best mod.

Hey I found the site for the "adjustable powerbands," but It sounds kind of fake, I dont know where they go. Has any ever heard or used these before.

stuff some paper and cardboard between the slider gears and you have a locker. or cement

I will sell you a Lincoln Locker for the front and rear. Detroit lockers run what, around $400 a piece. I will sell you both for, say, $400, shipped. PM me if interested. I will even express ship them to you. I except paypal, checks (once they clear), money orders, and even cash.

Instead of lift blocks search for s10 bastard pack on NAXJA. You will probably also need a slip yoke eliminator and rear driveshaft.

All right fun is fun lets help this newbie. how are you going to drive the heep?
daily driver , offroad only ,mall crawler? 35s are a great tire size for A beginer.
But you have to think about other things the 2.8 is a gutless terd i think the 4poper in those xjs had more horsies. the 207 case is weak [I blew 2] and you probly have 377 gears or worse . If your going to run 35s and want any performance at all your going to need to re gear the diffs. as for lockers if its offroad only weld them up if its not put in a real locker in. Just be ready the 30 front and 35 rear dont like 35in tires so start saving for 1 tons. AND DO SOME RESEARCH BEFOR POSTING IN THE HARDCORE SECTION:flipoff2:

Fuck off dude.
This isn't funny...quit being a jackass and cluttering up the forum with your adolescent shit.
By the way, if you're going to lie about a rig being yours atleast use a picture that hasn't been posted all over the net in the last 10 years.
