He did contact them. Don't know the details but this is what he posted as their reply

"Yes, that is the back side cut of 3/16, which on long production runs can produce oval shaped smaller hole sizes. If you want gussets with out cutouts we would be happy to replace them at no cost, or we can also punch the cutouts to clean up the edges and send out replacements. This has nothing to do with quality control, it is a limitaion of the machine they are cut on. Thank you and let me know how you would like to proceed."

The parts were ordered online.

When I received them I called to express my dissapointment and left it at that. Later I emailed Jeff and he provided the explanation as previously posted. Which still doesn't explain how they got put in a box and shipped to a customer.

Jeff is having new ones made with the holes punched rather than plasma cut, all is good, life goes on.

Holy shit a guy could make better ones at home with a hole saw and jig saw. hell a dull hatchet would compete with that. I am suprised these made it even off the plaz table and didnt go directly to scrap. Someone would have had to of noticed when packaging them by hand noticed. Well then I think things have changed then, as I pretty sure they wore kilts as formal parade dress. They were 2 RCR when I was in as well. But that could be wrong too. Been damn near 20 years since I was in, back when we still had airborne.

I watched home videos of guys in the captial of Kosvo highlighting targets for your air force. We helped train SEALS and I think Rangers as well. Used to mess with our Airbornes guys pretty good too. (They were our poster boy badasses)

If you look into our history, we also engulfed the Black Watch, which I think you would find really interesting. My Warrant was the last serving member of the Black Watch. Best shot I have ever seen in my life, and could see crap 1000yards away. I was good and he made look like preschool. Also taught us how to trap real good, no rations in the field, LOL, except the Brandy.

It was a joint US/Canada Regiment, that is consider one of the most feared in the world, ever. Some interesting stories would be our cypher (VRI) and lanyards for NCO's. I think the Festerburt Battle Honor was for pissing on hankerchiefs and wearing them to fight the Germans using mustard gas. We stayed while everyone else took off. Nice little suprise for the Germans who thought it was all clear.

Try just goggling Royal Canadian Regiment. Our light infantry is called PPCLI (Princess Praticia's C(?) Light Infantry). We bug each other, but those boys are deadly too. In Korea they recieved the CMH from your government, only time I think a whole Regiment did. Lately known for their snipering in Afganistan.
