We have an awesome meal planned and need to know how many to plan to feed.

Del did a preliminary list and I am working on a final. If you have access to a tractor we could use one more to do some waterbar work and save a few backs (mine hurts just thinking about it)

Anyone that wants to step up and lead/run a crew is more than welcome to give it a shot. Bebe did so and I hope to have more. Just let me know.

I have a couple wheel hubs etc, so a complete axle is an easy task. We'd just need wheels/tires donated and jimjob to weld'er up, maybe a new hitch also?

I'm interested, and I'm going through the trail next weekend -- drop me a line and tell me more, I might be able to drag through a basic T-frame tongue and axle, and strap the trailer body to that for the exit. Either that, or I have a pretty good stock of wheels and tires -- let's put our heads together!

Watsonville sounds like a tough move, Brian. Are you going flat-land on us?

I saw that trailer and it has been separated from the frame. Not much left. I bet Merlin would be happy for it to leave the property.

Like scott said it's tub is separated from the frame, so your T trialer may do the job. It's a beater but would be perfect for rock hauling. Flatland?? I dunno, but I do like it here and have a condo on the beach so life is good! The day trips will have me back in camino before winter...

I was with him. Don't know bout a pic, but know it had to be a record land no speed record to the springs. I ended up sleeping on V rock after he snapped a birf. Also, enough welding had to be done to the trailer that Scott ended up with sunburn:laughing:.

This Saturday is the Lake Tahoe Marathon, and 89 will be closed all along the west shore. Here is what I copied from their web site.

Highway 89 (Emerald Bay Road) will be closed north of Camp Richardson near Spring Creek Road northbound starting at 7:30 a.m. sharp, until approximately 1:30 p.m. (It may open a bit sooner) From the South Shore traffic is open between the city limits to Spring Creek Road which includes Camp Richardson, Fallen Leaf Lake Rd, and Baldwin Beach. Local residents may get to Cascade, Rubicon, Meeks Bay by showing their address or letter from employers up until 8:30 A.M.


The rule of thumb for local residents of Homewood, Tahoma, and Rubicon is to be in Tahoe City before 8 a.m. or wait until 10:00 a.m.

South bound traffic is open except for delays because of race traffic or race starts.

The road opens behind the runners at a rate of 11 minutes per mile. So Sunnyside to Tahoe City is open 22 minutes after the race starts. Homewood to Tahoe City is open both directions 66 minutes after the race starts.

Visitors going from SLT to Emerald Bay should plan to go at 1:30 PM or later.




The Highway Patrol will stop north bound traffic at the following locations:

1.5 miles south of Fanny Bridge

6 miles south of Fanny Bridge in North Homewood

8 miles south of Fanny Bridge in North Tahoma

Spring Creek Road at mile 23 Mile south of Tahoe City or 5 miles north of South Lake Tahoe



South bound traffic from Tahoe City on Hwy 89 will be open but very slow. Traffic will resume to normal In Tahoe City and working southward at a 11.5 minutes per mile pace starting at 8:30 A.M.

Race start times from Tahoe City are: 8:00 Marathon Elite Women, and 8:30 a.m. Marathon Men, Women, & Marathon Relays.

The Homewood 20 Mile Power Walk/Run will start at 8:00 am in Homewood.

Traffic will be stopped 100 yards northbound of Rubicon Realty by Glenn Street at 10:30 a.m. for the start of the Half Marathon.

Traffic will be stopped in both directions for the 10K runners starting at 8:45 a.m. until 9:40 a.m. between Inspiration Point and Spring Creek Road. The Highway Patrol will sweep that 3 mile stretch at that time before the 10K race starts. Shuttle buses and emergency vehicles are excepted.



People need to be aware of this as it will really impact anyone who does not spend friday night at kaspian campground, or furhter up Blackwood cyn.

Turn off of Highway 89, going west on Blackwood Canyon road, and look for a right (north) turn within several hundred yards. The campground is located immediately on the right of Barker Pass Road after exiting Highway 89. Just inside the entrance is a parking lot with an RV (Campground Host). You park here and haul your stuff into the sites.

Kaspian is a walk-in campground that used to be a picnic area. Upon arrival you will be able to see this quickly.

All signed in and headed to the rock pile the county left for us.

We worked her real hard, many loads were dumped on her, and by the end of the day she was all wet and dirty. But she took it like a champ like any good girl would.

I want to thank everybody that helped out either on the day of or in preperation of or on one of the previous work days. This project started way back in 2006 when we first drained the mud hole and brought the county out to see it.

With this kind of effort the Rubicon Trail will never be closed.

I wish I could have been there but this time my trailer had to make an apperance for me.

I would like to thank Doug for putting this all in motion. I took over at the last moment and things went very well. We had a great day and the weather cooperated on Saturday. I would really like to thank my Dad for letting us use his tractor again. He actually came out and drove that thing!!! Ol' Betty did us proud. She was donated to the RTF by Jeeper Jamboree. I think we'll have to name all our trailers we are getting quite the collection.

Again Thakns to all that came out and braved the weather to get this job done!!!!
