sorry if this is the wrong place for this I've been looking thru everything I can fiind on this site for almost a week staying up till my eyes burnout and I fall asleep on the keyboard

I'm in west central Fla south of tampa. Anyone around here willing to help or have parts would be great I will Travel.

I'm a boat tech. always had chevy trucks usally build motors and or rebuilt trannys for my rigs but never had one lifted at all.

On to the mess I got myself into. finally picked up another K5 after 4 years without one. its a lifted 89 K5 w/ 3/4 springs & 38's dont know what axles yet. first time I looked at it it had driveline intact less engine. (original 350 in bed, mud race eng sold before previous owner bought it he seen it running) but by the time I went back to buy it the recent rebuilt th350 and 205 appeared in the bed as a 203 and greasy pos th350 with bonus rusty dipstick. someone in the storage area (I know this guy wouldnt waste his time doing it and he was shocked) musta needed them. well I did get the truck cheaper but not that much cheaper. Now I'm wondering what these drive shafts are and trying to Id everything to get a direction. I was gunna throw one of my tried sbc's in so I could move it around while working on it (paint, interior etc) and worry about getting a 700r4 setup later or rebuilt one. So now I'm looking for a used working 700r4 and t case or the adapter and output shaft for 700r4/203 (have couple working 2wd 7oor4's) so I can at least move it around. and worry about rebuilding a 700r4 later. any help would be appreciated and I'd rather not pay the shippers a ton.

and yes I want to go back to the 700r4 wouldnt mind a 205 (if they adapt easy) This will be a DD and not see much if any off road & do some towing (I'm a boat Tech) but not much thats what the 84 3/4 ton 454 / 400 / dana posi suburban is for
:D

some of this may not make sense but ask I try to clarify

Thanks for any help

thanx, Jeff

sorry, but please dont fix my blazer I'm tring to Id what is here, (mainly driveshafts) and get some feedback on peoples thoughts for direction. I'm not sure which transfer cases fit a 700r4 with stock adaptors and will have the highestest final gear for hiway use. and yes for now I would like to pickup a used tranny and t case to be able to move it around. and fix my own truck. and yes if someone needs the truck or boat parts I have I would trade for the parts i need

well if it's the 89 in your sig it most likely came with a tbi 305 or 350 a 700r4 and a np208 transfer case....
all transfer cases have a 1:1 high range ratio
the highest gears are NOT the best gears for the highway
as is the case with any bastard truck project you have a lot to sort out.... best bet is find a known good trans and transfer case together.
buy them and install. Then measure for driveshafts. If yours work great and if not go shopping...
you can put any v8 4x4 chevy trans/tcase combo in that has the front output on the passenger side. th350,400,700r4/203,205,207. even manual but then you will have to come up with a clutch assy .... best bet is to purchase a rusted out pickup... swap out everything but the rear shaft leaving only one part to find..... take the will trade and need this or that stuff to the classifieds
