I got a cj with a dana 20 t-case.
I do not like that damn high gear ratio 2:1 they give you. I have been wanting to go lower but do not know what would be best?
I was thinking of finding a used D-300 that has the 4:1 kit on it and buy an adapter for it coming from my C4.
I do not know what the cost of a low geared D-300 is but will look into it if that is the best choice.
I think they make a low geared kit for the D-20 t-case. If they do I think that would be the cheapest route by far.
Any ideas on this would be helpful.
I think you are the recently banned full_blown and you should DO some research before you start posting all the same questions you did before you were banned. Figure out what what tires you want run first then your axles and t-case. Not to bust your balls but do some searching around before you ask some questions that 15 minutes worth of time spend searching here or on google can answer.

Best would be Atlast 4spd or 3spd STAK case.
Cheapest would be 3.15:1 gears for your D20.
Inbetween those is the D300 w/ 4:1.
Or you can go the doubler route.
BTW: this doesnt belong in HC but you already knew that. Hell I dont technically belong in HC...

Go dana 300, i have seen a few dana 20's self destruct and its not pretty.
Like said before and Atlas or Stak would be best but I think the 300 is a much better choise than a 20.

I'd just put gears in the 20. Buying a Dana 300 and spending the money on adapting it and then gears is just stupid money down the hole.

Thats kind of funny. :shaking: Maybe if it was some Bronco crap.

no joke....
by the time you buy the t-case, 4:1, 32 spline out puts, and an adadapter you could buy a stak.
PS: I have a 300 in my buggy and a 231 in my TJ both with 4:1 kits and am happy with both. but if I was to do it again I would have put stak's in both.

I agree with that, sorry, I guess I didn't give it enough thought, if a dana 300 (which its not) was a bolt in it would make alot more sense.
