The Dello 400 is the better of the 2 but both are just fine. One thing to note is add an extra 1/2 qt. if it is a 99-02 because on hills under power the check engine light will come on sometimes because it thinks it is low on oil. If you add the extra 1/2 then the problem goes away.
Have you been keeping up on the coolant? The PSD has a bad cavitation problem.

I have had to add collant a few times to top it off? Is this what you talking about? Can you explain a little bit. If you have a PSD what type of air filter do you recommend?

Thanks

PSD's need a coolant additive called DCA4 or FW15, depending on who you talk to. Fleetguard is the original manufacturer of the additive and is the recommended brand. You can also pick some up at your local dealer for just a few $$ a bottle. The PSD has a corrosion (cavitation) problem that is handled well if you keep up on the coolant system. You can get test strips, to test the for the correct amount of additive in the coolant. Check out Ford Diesel . com (http://www.ford-diesel.com/) there you will find a ton of info on the problem and the ways to keep it in check

The coolant additive is about $7 at the Ford dealer. Depends on how you use your truck but you should dump in a bottle about every 15 to 20 thousand miles. I prefer NAPA air filters as i have never had any dust go past one, even when i was in Nevada and was in terrible dust conditions. DONT, I REPEAT DONT use a K&N as they dont seal well and dust will go through them.

FWIW, I was at the Ford dealer this morning buying some oil filters for the Stroke and was talking about oils. Their recommendation was either the Motorcraft oil or the Shell Rotella T. They said those were the only 2 oils "approved" by Ford. Take it for what it is worth. I don't know the validity of this statement, I just prefer the Rotella.
