Hey OS, i whipped up a few rules and a little info to use as a sticky, you can edit it or repost it under your name if you want, i got nooo isuues :D

RULES

1. DiscoWeb has its place, it is not here. For questions about general maintenance, or fitting 32s on your rig, go to DiscoWeb, where your question will be answered.

2. This is a Land Rover Forum, and unfortunately, Land Rovers are not modified to the same extent as Crusiers or Jeeps. Therefore, feel free to post a pic of your rig on 31s, we just want to see a modified Land Rover!

3. If you are asking a question about swapping non-LR axles into your vehicle, or something like pictures of trucks on 35s, PLEASE do a search first, as there is already a good amount of info out there about topics of that genre. The search button is located at the upper right hand corner of the screen, about two inches down from the edge of the screen.

4. Have thick skin, you may get jabbed a little bit, but its all in good fun.

5. Bashing about fitting non-LR parts to our vehicles will NOT BE TOLERATED. If you are a purist, or can simply not handle the modification of Land Rovers that occurs here, you might as well leave now to save us all a headache.

6. Please keep the bashing of other Land Rover BBs to a minimum, as we should try and keep a good image for ourselves, not one of just the outlaws and the troublemakers. This INCLUDES DISCOWEB! As strongly as you may feel about DiscoWeb in any way, please hesitate to make fun of it or the owners/moderators of that BB. In other words, DONT START SHIT.

7. :flipoff2: is the pirate salute. :flipoff: means that you are very angry. Get them straight.

8. HAVE A GOOD TIME. Dont worry about being bashed for wanting 33s on your Discovery, or 35s on your Range Rover. That does not happen here, and trust me, we want to hear about your experiences!

9. Most importantly, APPROACH THIS BOARD WITH AN OPEN MIND. The sky is the limit with your Land Rover, and while we know that you most likely have not taken it to its full potential (few have), just know that you can, and that others may.

10. POST A PICTURE OF YOUR RIG!!!

Rules suck!

The only rule you need to know is if your stupid, don't be surprised when everybody tells you just how stupid you are.

Well Adam it looks like you put some work in the rules. I don't think were there yet. I think the forum has been running just fine. There has been so little crap posts your rules seem to be overkill. The latest conflict with Dweb is because the rover community raging loon went off on a rant. I have saved your rules and if we get to the point of needing them, it's a great start.

My #11
Just because you have a Land Rover doesn't mean you belong here!
Bob

If anyone else feels the same as Adam, speak up!

Do we need any changes around here?
PM me if something is on your mind, and you don't want to post it here.
Should we start a Topic Of The Week( see jeep forum) ?

not that much time heheh, about 15 mins before dinner :D

i only wrote them up because of the recent Dweb fiasco, and also as a pre-emptive measure.

i think a TOTW would be pretty cool, i think it would add a lot of good info to the board.

and i definetly see what you mean about how smoothly things have been running around here, hell i dont think you have had to do much moderating at all! :flipoff2: but good job nonetheless.

BTW, Topic of the Day, or TOTW only last a while before everyone is sick of them, but are useful for the DAN's if they bother to search.

Ron is now writing personal rules such as....

"24. Seriousone needs to stop making cookie cutter rigs"

Hey,

How do you think I got the name 'Bolt-On-Bob'????

If I can't see it on-line, FedEx it the next day, bolt it on with hardware that is *included*, with instructions that include diagrams, photos AND an 800#, then it's too much trouble.

Oh wait, I think I just broke rule #6.

Sorry!

You're saying you want me to post more useless gibberish including screwy opinions and mod ideas that I don't have time to actually do right now? hmm.. nice to feel wanted!

And as far as breaking, my rigs haven't seen a trail since the CC, so I'm not breaking anything right now. :(

I really gotta get back out on the trail, this sucks. :(

btw, if anyone wants me to test something to see if it is truely strong, I'll try it! :flipoff2:

Question for all here?

double posts?

Questions like "Welder problem" and such, I've been posting in the general 4x4 section rather than here. Does everyone here keep an eye to that section as well?

should we double post or not?

or....
How do I post a picture? whats a red star for? Have a look at my cool rig?

LOL

I think double posting is a good thing. I like to see posts that regard rovers period. I think that the rover weight factor amongst several others, is an important aspect when considering modification. One note to make as I frequently visit (never post though) to the general 4x4 place is that bolt on jobs, etc. are looked down upon to the all mightly build it yourself out of the junkyard approach. I think that rovers, unlike j**ps, are worth keeping for a lifetime, therefore it is an investment. I plan on being buried when I die in my rover, so I look at the cost of a coffin and think man I would rather spend the $5000 on my rover now and enjoy it. After all Corbeous will be plenty comfy for being dead.

Way:D

No way man!

Give the trucks to my kids, so *their* grand kids can enjoy them!

Put me in a pine box or sprinkle my ashes somewhere nice.

Being buried in the truck would just be selfish.

Besides Adam, your truck ALREADY looks like a coffin! :flipoff2:

(oh wait, did I just type what I was only supposed to be thinking????)

Thanks for the offer! I actually managed to set up a trip to the Con for this weekend with our club here. We're going to go up to one of the little out of the way lakes, camp there, and then run people into the little sluice.

Looks like a coffin ehh?!?! LOL! Maybe handing it down would be good thing. However there is no way in hell that I am ever having kids (famous last words). I don't want them dipping in to my toy money!:D

Way, take it from me. It's the other way around when you have kids. You'll be dipping into THEIR toy money. I've got a 14 month old girl, so I know all about it. That's why I keep building my own shiatt, 'cause all of my money's being spent on diapers, food, day-care, blah blah blah. But her first vehicle WILL be a Rover, just not a new one.:D

Serious One

Greg has just hit the ol' nail on the head with that last statement.

How in the world do you think that I managed to pull off building the Serious One????

Be careful Greg, hopefully you won't go off the deep end when you build her that first LR! (IOW, do as I say, NOT as I do).
