I would like to trade my numbers matching 68 Chevelle for a buggy or a built Jeep. The Chevelle is a beautiful driver quality car with cold ac. It has the original 307 with a automatic trans.(powerglide). No rust, very solid and straight. I am asking $15,000 and will consider trades up or down. Pics can be found at the following link.

Anyone else have anything that you would like to trade for a classic muscle car? I also have a 03 Honda Rincon with extras that I would consider throwing in for the right rig. I also might consider trading for two cheaper trail rigs. Let me know what you have.

As one who has built more muscle cars than wheelers, you are on crack. Nice car but the price is over 40% too high. I wish you luck, but a 307 powerglide car isn't worth that much in any condition in the current market.

It sucks but its true.

Well you are certainly entitled to your opinion, but it seems that most of the people over at chevelles.com disagree with you. Follow the links and you will see what I am talking about. If you can find any nice chevelles at the prices you are talking about, I will buy them.

I have built a number of Chevelles and that is where my opinion comed from.

Just for reference, I'm not interested in your car and have nothing to gain by trying to talk you down. You're unlikely to get your asking price in the real world, based on a couple of things:

That motor/tranny combo is a deal-killer. I understand it's original.

That body style is the most common.

I had a '65 Chevelle that I sold awhile back for $14k. It had good paint, no rust, and a redone interior. It had a built (bored, rebuilt) 307 with a T350. The '64-'65 body style is substantially harder to find than yours and I advertised that car for awhile before I found a buyer.

I'd think -- again, real-world stuff here -- that $12k is probably going to be a realistic selling price. Good luck.

SINCE MOST NICE MUSCLE CARS JUST GET IDLED FROM SHOW TO SHOW, AND THE THOUGHT OF BURNING A TIRE IS INCOMPREHENSIBLE TO MOST OF THESE OWNERS, THE 307 DOESNT MATTER AS LONG AS IT CAN SIT IN A PARADE FOR 3 HOURS WITHOUT OVERHEATING....:mad3:
HE'LL PROBABLY GET IT SINCE MOST PEOPLE BUYING CLASSICS NOW WATCH A LOT OF BARRET JACKSON WHICH MEANS ALL 68 CHEVELLES NOT JUST 427'S ARE WORTH 6 FIGURES.
:blender:
JUST MY OPINION.
GOOD LUCK ON THE SALE, JUST WAIT IT OUT AND IM SURE YOULL GET WHAT YOU WANT FOR IT...:smokin:

Whats up with the bashing????....PM'ing would be the right thing to do...I thought it was one of the "rules" not to bash sellers!..Maybe your are right...Maybe I'm wrong...but isnt a 68/69 Chevelle considered a "muscle car" with no motor or trans....:shaking:.Of course..I prefer the 65.. but 68-71's are still kinda of cool ......Anyway...moderate on:D

Guys if you are not interested in the car then please don't waste my time. I have had lots interest and several offers to trade. If you think my price is too high then try to go build a car to this level for what I am asking. Good luck.

I don't mind traveling a little but CA is just too far. I would like to find something within a few hundred miles. Thanks for your interest, I wish you were not so far away.

I don't know when the last time you priced a muscle car was, but his price is about right. You can't touch a rolling chasis for less than 10k in So. Calif. Go to the pomona swap meet or get a classic car trader if you think I'm kidding. :shaking:
