:rasta: I tried some of napas' cheap shocks and they make the BEAST feel like there are no springs under it. I need to find a soft shock so that my waggy springs will flex but still help to dampen body roll. I am told that Dostech tech shocks are pretty stiff also. Any ideas as to which shocks I can get to help tame the whopping 2500 lb BEAST? And not break the already empty bank account? Thanx, Dale

I haven't tried them, but I heard Dostech tech shocks were about right for a Sami with the shorter stock springs. With Waggy springs you should need more shock, not less (at least that is what I think?). You could go with adjustable shocks like Ranck 9000's, but they are not cheap.

It's funny that I have the opposite problem. With my YJ's, I am underdamped. I am going to try the Bilstein off-road shocks.

The shocks that I picked up are from Napa Part "20751and #20818, They were $11.15 each. Guaranteed to dampen your ride.
Did you take any leafs out of your wrangler springs?

I actually added springs. I went to a six-leaf front (five leaf pack with a second full-length main spring) and a six leaf rear (five leaf pack with an additional intermediate-length spring). It flexes like crazy.

The YJ is the smaller of the Jeeps??
I thought that since the Wagoneer is a heavy Jeep that I should get rid of the smaller leafs to make up for the weight difference. Was I wrong? That is awsome that you have good flex.
I get about 28" with a single 3" shackle and no shocks and no bump stops. I have about 1 1/2 " negitive arch during max. compression. Is this bad?

Smaller than a wagy but larger than the cj YJ leafs are 43" eye to eye.

It depends on spring spacing as much as weight. The Samurai's front springs are inboarded somewhat so they flex well. I am not familiar with the comparative weight of the Waggy. Try taking a leaf off and see. In my experience (with everything else being equal like spring quality) the more leaves you start with on a flexy rig, the longer they last. But what the heck, used springs are cheap.

NOTHING is cheap in Alaska.
The dogs charged me 200.00 for those worn out Waggy springs.
Hmmmmmm. LOL And when I order from the lower 48, freight kills me. so I end up paying the same prices anyway.
