Well were were the first two H2's to try slickrock and OWN it as far as we know! Both rigs are esentially stock besides fabtech tie rods and 37' Tires (cooper STT's and Kuhmo's). The black one even sports some chrome 20" rims!:D:D

We can get groceries or climb slickrock or tow jeeps up to tellico and all while under warranty.

Here are the pics......

Here is the jeep thst we towed up there. Unfortunatley the steering brace broke on Sat and we did slick rock on Sun. We know it would have owned slickrock as well. Its locked frt and rear, 350 chevy, 33's, mild lift, etc.

Our buddy took his bike up there to ride the nearby Dragon's tail. Its like 300 turns in eleven miles. He said it was amazing!

It was a great trip overall and we will continue making it a yearly event.

For those of you who haven't been there, the pictures don't do Slickrock any justice. It is very steep and slick as the name suggests. I was impressed with both the coopers and the Kuhmos. I was skeptical of the kuhmos, but they performed admirably.

Here is my favorite pic...

Not sure if you call it afraid but whatever you want to call it is fine with me. After running indisputably tough trails(in stock fashion), i drove home 9 hours in the comfort of big leather seats, with enough room for my gear my kids and my dog, and enjoyed a smooth riding suspension easily comparable to a Cadillac. Youve seen how it looks on trail, but after taking off the magnetic sheilds i get to drive this beauty on a daily basis!

IM glad you guys didnt wait to long b/c we ended up running it on Sunday...we figured it would be best incase we broke something. BTW, that rig of yours is sweet.

I'm pretty impressed. With that being said, you could build a hell of a rockcrawler for what you paid for that suburban :flipoff2:Agreed you could build a heck of a crawler for the price of an H2, but the H2 suits me fine. Since i live so far away from any good trails(tellico is 9hours from me) i dont get to wheel that often and having a trailer queen just isnt so attractive with the long hauls. Not to mention the H2 makes a nice daily driver. Suburban, HA!

It was pretty funny, but if your going to ride on the dirt road the whole time you may as well stay at home. Im not going to be there for the Dixie Run but im sure everyone will have a great time.

We both started out on the right side and i wound up going left at the tree on the top. Alan went right to middle to right. It is interesting that people wait to see Hummers...they are just another truck(that happend to be capable in stock form :D) but i guess you dont see them on trails too often.

Really you should... its at Coal Creek OHV in Oliver Springs, TN. Its very short, and the fastest I've seen in person was about 30mins. right here is where a lot of people are mistaken...

I have been up before in the rain and not spun a tire over, and then there are times it has taken a little throttle to get up in the dry. When slickrock is dry there is a bunch of sand on it which kills traction, but when it rains the sand is washed off and it is bare, clean rock.

Lots of hating in here..yeah Slickrock isn't very hard in a buggy or built rig..I'm sure in an H2 it wasn't a cake walk. Nice to see people out wheeling them instead of rolling through the mall sucking down gas. There must be some really fragile egos in here for the amount of negative comments made. I always like seeing something that you don't normaly see on the trails and that's what gets people interested in taking wheeling to the next level. Did all you haters start out in a buggy?

KiGrind

Ever try to walk down a creek that has some water running down it? I'm sure some of us have driven across or up them. Rain wont make it slick. When the rock is able to sustain the small grown of life on it that makes it slick, such as algae, is when you have an issue.

There was a spring or something at the top of it that kept water trickling down it. What happened to that? Last time I went to telico was like in 95. :shaking: Guess I'll find out next weekend.

The beauty of wheeling a stock machine is WARRANTY!!! That being said we do carry tools, tie rods, sometimes half shafts(although you can get off trail with a broken half shaft). Of course we have spare tires and hi lifts.

I was at Tellico last weekend, and I ran into y'all on 4 (I was haulin ass in the truggy). I was impressed just to see y'all actually wheelin. The rig on STTs was pretty sweet (I love those tires!, next set for the trug)....

I respect y'all actually wheelin 'em but I gotta rain on your parade a bit! Slickrock was like a freakin paved driveway! They even made a "boat ramp" out of the last ledge (that I flipped on about a month ago...). When there is no water at all on the "rock" it's just a big, flat slope... At least you don't have spinners! :flipoff2:

I know how much fun it is wheelin, breakin, fixin, and driving home your rig. I wheel a "stock" 87 4Runner on 33s that is locked and crawler geared.... Hell my IFS 4Runner is essentially a 1/2 size H2 ('cept mine looks like a smashed pop can!) I've did everything in Tellico, no bypasses in my Runner.

Hey man! Good to see you up there again, we ended up just doing 8 on Sat, but did slickrock on Sunday. It was pretty cool since there was hardly anyone out there sunday.

I barely recognized your truck! Last time it was basically stock on 32 or 33's and still was an SUV! Nice build up since then. I bet that rig goes pretty much anywhere in Tellico. Hope your trip was as fun as ours, it was perfect weather up there.

I love the stereo typing here! Just because we drive hummers we must be mecanically illiterate! Of course we have tools and know how to fix our trucks. I have owned/built/restored several K5 blazers, 74 nova, 73 challenger, 72 vette, etc.

The most common issues are tie rods and CV shafts. Both are easily repaired on the trail. Also, another misconception is that these trucks were designed/built by GM. H2's were designed and built By AM GENERAL for GM in South Bend, right along side the H1. They used the GMT platform as the base (see pic) When you design a vehicle around a set of 35" tires like AM general did, it all works very well. The H3's are built elsewhere, but you will start to see them on the trails soon as well. They are extemely capable in the right hands and can clear 35's w/o a lift.

I cannot imagine the vehicle has ever done anything to your or has hurt your feelings in any way....its just another vehicle. Im sure youll find fuh2.com very amusing however. Yeah, your right its very easy and stock 2006 model year rigs do it all the time. Just for some reason no one has any pictures of other stock non lifted vehicles doing it. I heard that a 2wd subaru on low profiles walked right up it while it was pouring raining and then did lower 2.:D:D:D

Seriously though, I bet the only other stock vehicle (other than tires) that could make it up there w/o any body or mech damage would be any of the rubicons. and of course an H1. But, I bet you will see an H3 adventure walk it soon. You can fit 35's on them w/o any mods. Did the FJ guys do slickrock?

For all of you buggy owners who comment that slickrock is easy, I would hope it would be for a trailered and trail only rig! I'd like to see you take your daily driver or tow rig up slick rock. Pics of daily drivers/tow rigs on slick rock instead of buggys get props from me. I know buggies can make it up it, if they can't they suck!

You guys sure have jumped into the BS that is the PBB.

I think you guys are missing the one true thing we love in 4 wheeling. Building something to do what it wasn't meant to do. There are those that can spend the money and turnkey a wheeler, hten there are those of us who build something from scratch and create an entire wheeling environment.

I shake my head at the poor soles who didn't take the time to enjoy the journey in creating a wheeler and rushed to the finish line and bought one.

I'm glad to see you wheeling it. You're just as much at fault as the rest with the one upmanship. This is Pirate, if you think you're going to impress anyone here with an H2, you are sadly mistaken. I took an 86 Grand wagoneer and built it up and am still doing good to EARN respect and not demand it by saying, "look what I did".

I am enjoying the thread tho. By the way, come out to Harlan with me. I 'll show you what Lion's Den is all about.

No... it's PBB. But it's saps like you apparently having the sarcasm of the title escape you only when it's an obvious ego tug.

What's really funny is who had the nerve to label that trail "Extreme." Especially when an IFS, non-lifted, luxury SUV seems to be able to run it. Oh, that's right, all the bypasses were taken, it didn't rain that day.... any excuse that smoothes the ego:shaking:

STFU. There are just as many bought rigs here as there are the BS you call something you built. And I mean the tubers built by someone else included.

THIS IS THE HUMMER FORUM!

If you don't like the posts about someone wheeling the H2, then STFU about it and don't post. Case you missed it, the H2 is 5 years old and cost $60K new. It doesn't lend itself to being chopped on just yet.

I shake my head at idiots like you that think you somehow got it right because you turned a wrench on a buggy. Wheeling a stock vehicle takes a shitload more ability than some POS you are not worried about banging on.

See, you miss it. As many of the shit-talking turds do.

You seem to think you speak for everyone and that working on your shit is the "one true thing we love in 4 wheeling." While there is satisfaction in wrenching and welding your own shit, it hasn't a damn thing to do with wheeling.

Tell you what. When there is a hardcore Hummer forum here, feel free to stop by and talk shit about building. M-kay there sporty-sport.

No...

I don't have any ego issues. Both my wheeling truck and my DD beat the pants off anything put out by the general. I have no need really to thump my chest. You've been around long enough to remember when it said "hardcore rockcrawling" at the top of this forum. I'm glad to see you wheeling. I'm glad Bebe is as involved in land use issues as she seems to be even though she is annoying as all hell. BUt really, you no more "owned" that obstacle than would a bone stock Rubicon or any other OE wheeling vehicle. To stand up and thump your chest and say," Look at me!" is stupid when your junk is at best comparable to other stock offerings and when stacked up against even the least of most of those shown on this board, is crap. It's the chest thumping that irritates people, not the wheeling. Taking a 30 or 40 thousand dollar vehicle out and beating the piss out of it in situations it was not designed for(no matter what GMC says) is the antithesis of cool, it just proves that you have more money than sense.

Bebe's hypocrisy is amazing. She will ban people picking on Hummers for just saying negative things but Hummer owners can get away with outright personal attacks.:shaking:

I concede your point, not all real wheelers have to be built by whomever owns them. It does not necessarily take more ability. I assure you no matter how well you drive your Hummer I could stick you in a rock buggy and point you to something in JOhnson Valley and you probably wouldn't do that well. The truth is, it takes more concentration to keep from getting that full bodied rig through without thoroughly trashing it. To say it takes more actual skill is disingenuous.

Atleast somebody got my point. Chest thumping which was not what I was doing BTW.

I never attacked anyone. I never cussed you either. This thread and the other one with Boss-Hossh2 or what ever, are quite entertaining.

There is one thing that EVERYONE on the PBB will agree with me on, you don't pound your chest and expect/demand respect in the Hummer forum or in the Hardcore Jeep Forum. It just doesn't happen.

I care very much for what happens to my rig. Sometimes you just have to get through it.

If you didn't notice in blind fit of cursing rage, I did say that I was glad to see you wheeling it.:shaking:

Who's making bad comments and judgements now?:grinpimp:

By these few words, I think you might be confused about what hypocrisy really is or are quite happy thoroughly practicing it yourself.

Ever heard of a quaint Austrian gentleman named Sigismund Schlomo Freud?

I haven't banned anybody....yet.

So far this is borderline. I'll leave it. Just don't take it any further, Hummer owners included.

I'm an equal opportunity mod.:flipoff2:

Who gives a shit if you "attacked" or "cussed?" I DID IT.

Your passive aggressive attack is no different than my more humorous juvenile one. I'm just more genuine with mine. Dickhead.

If you have brown hair and I call you a brunette.... is that a personal attack?

You being an idiot is no different.

Thats great, but you have to remember that you have "premium hubs". I am very proud of you however. Thank you for taking your time to post on our thread.

Yeah I love those hubs I guess I have full circle hubs and you got spinners more bling that breaks.

Well i guess that groups you with the tree huggers...btw, how does someone grow to HATE a vehicle? I cannot imagine the vehicle has ever done anything to your or has hurt your feelings in any way....its just another vehicle. Im sure youll find fuh2.com very amusing however. We do enjoy wheeling our trucks but have no problem with wheeling with any vehicle with any badge...im an equal oppertunity wheeler ;).

:mr-t::homer:(this has no relevence but ive never been on a board with a homer and a mr t so i couldnt help myself).

What does me hating hummers have anything to do with being a tree hugger.
Thats just my personal opinion, if you would have kept on reading I said im glad to see your actually using it. Thats pretty sad you get your feelings hurt just because someone said they didnt like your car :shaking:.

Keep on wheeling. :homer: :mr-t:

Awfully fun coming from someone with jesus take the wheel as their title. Like I said, good on you for wheeling, but no one cares. For the same reason every time someone else makes it up an obstacle they don't jump on Pirate and post a thread about owning it. Just wheel.Get it or get out of the way.

I am just glad our rigs are being compared to buggies! And the only pics I see are of buggies or trail only rigs. Like I said, I give mad props to any stock vehicle who even attempts silck rock, wet, dry, left, right, etc.
