: Disk conversion question.

I'm currently building up an '88+ 14 bolt and I'm wanting to convert to disks.

I read Bill's 14b bible and he mentions that the lugs will be too short for the nut to fit for proper DD useage. The lug also has too large of a head to fit properly as well, so I was wondering what it was you guys went with to accomodate this problem? Different rotors? Different studs? (part number?) or?

Thanks,
sorry about the newb question. Google isn't much help and I need to get this swapped by the weekend.

My studs were not too short but I am using steel wheels. The heads of the studs are not too big for my Autozone rotors either.

Simple enough. Appreciate the help.

I have one more question;
once again, I have a newer 14 bolt. Can't tell you what year or what it came out of but I was pulling some parts off of a few parts from a junk yard 14 bolt (1990 Silverado) and I realized that it only had one spindle nut. (snap ring and square key as well.)

Every write up I have read shows two spindle nuts, two washer. The year of the axle wasn't mentioned, but since BillaVista was using an older 14 bolt which had the two nuts and in the bible it mentions that a guy only had the set up I seen today, but it was also an 87, so it pretty much confuses me.

Is this nothing more than an option that I can do, or is it year specific and I have to go with one or the other for it to work properly?

Thanks again.

The 14 Bolt spindle nut threads are the same as the Dana 60s, so you could buy the new Stage 8 Dana 60 spindle nuts.
