I have a new toy I'm strating to build. Its a 75 CJ5, Its getting 60's, quarter eliptical, 350.... you know all the dumb stuff. But it has Manuel (manual) brakes. That wont cut it with 38's. Should I just throw like an 81 CJ7 booster and cylinder at it or do I use something cooler? Front Disc and Rear Drum too.

Thanks

Josh

I am rebuilding my 81 CJ7 now with a dana 44 front & disc braked 14 bolt and I am looking to upgrade my power booster to a bigger unit. I read another post or article [rock taxi] where the guy put bigger tires on his rig and he didn't have the stopping power he needed .

I would like a junkyard/autozone bolt in if possible for the swap but have not found out what will work yet, I would like to not have to modify it very much, maybe just the mounting bracket but using the stock [control?] arm and plunger depth.....if anyone knows.

I run Chevy 3/4 front brakes and chevy 1/2 ton rears (both disc)on mine with manual brakes.

68 Vette mastercylinder, four wheel disc 1 1/8 bore.

I can lock my 36s up at 55 with out even thinking about it. I know 38s wouldnt be a problem either.
