its a 2wd, but a lot on this board are from California and have to put up with this crap, so figured I'd see what you all have to say

its an 85 f150 with a 302 with 73k. Here in Dallas county they just started doing dyno testing with the emissions and my truck failed pretty bad due to high carbon monoxide levels. 6% at 1500 rpm's

The truck smells like its running a little rich, but I looked all over the carb and didnt see any manual adusting screws. is it all controlled by the stepper motors in the back, or is there a manual set screw that I'm over looking?

There is no egg smell like a bad cat. convertor has. Where would you guys start?

also the emissions light stays on, but I found info of a recall on it on alldata.com, so it might be a ford thing. It's my daily driver and I really don't want to have to pull any strings or do anything shady to get a sticker, I've already got a Jeep that requires that.

IF you have the computer controlled Carb then get someone to help you pull the alarm codes from the computer.

High CO is just that, running rich,
your air filter plugged?
Carb dirty?
Choke sticking on?
Does this one have an O2?
There is an ajusting screw, i forgot where, but most likely to need to drill it out to get at it

hmm, wonder if it had anything to do with the previous owner replacing the starter solenoid and not hooking the wire up for the EEC back to the + post.

Thanks for the help guys, think I got it from here
