Can anyone tell me what rear axle this had? It had a badge on the rear that said something like Trailering Special 15000lb etc...

We think its a D60 FF but maybe its a 14 bolt?

Whatever it has is it worth anything? I am thinking about running it in my ranger.

thanks!

ive never seen a 60 rear in a suburban from 73-91.

that doesnt mean they dont exist, but the odds are, its a 14 bolt.

did ya think to count the bolts on the cover?

a 14 bolt has... get this.... a whole 14 bolts on the cover

a dana 60 has..... oh, boy... damn... 10 bolts on the cover.

if you are looking at the vehicle to purchase, you should probably be aware of what youre buying before you end up with a 10 bolt corp chevy axle thinking its a 60. :shaking:

i have not seen it, well ive seen it but not looked at it. if that makes sense.

my buddy here at work said hey ive got a D60 FF from a Suburban... I started searching and asked him are you sure its a D60? He wasnt sure.

Thus why I asked on here. He is going to look at it this weekend and let me know. btw its only the rear end. he scrapped the rest.

up to 72, the suburban was available with a 60 in the rear. beginning in 73, GM started putting its own rear axles in almost all trucks and suburbans, the 14 bolt was the FF piece.

a 60FF rear axle was generally an option in a van.

edit:
I should clarify that duallies were available with a dana 70u rear axle. that way the dana 70 guys dont get butthurt.

100$ or less if it is in good shape.

A gov lock decreses it's value, a detroit increses it's value.
