Okay, i have a big problem here. And i need some help quick.

Long story short, i thought i was about to throw a connecting rod, via some really nasty knocking. I had a engine builder take a look at it, and he said that i was a collapsed hydro. lifter. No problem, i replace the lifters, and pushrods. Nasty knocking problem solved all through the break in session. Shut the truck off. A few minutes after, i start it up again to pull it out of my backyard. Really nasty knocking is BACK. During its time after the break in, i installed a new oil pressure line. *old one torched on my exhaust and soaked my bay in oil* Funny thing, its not registering.
Now i have a horrid thought that my oil pump is toast, and my engine is slowly eating itself apart.

To the Question:
Is there any way to test to see if the pump is running? hopefully w/o pulling the engine out of the truck so i can pull the oil pan.
Any help you can toss my way would be great..
Thanks in advance fellas.

Oh, and the engine is a 1986 302 converted to carb. basic performance stuff yadda yadda and dual sump oil pan.

Definately make sure the oil relocator lines are not switched.

Pull the distributor and a valve cover, then make a tool and turn the oil pump with a drill. You should get oil out the lifters.

Install a good oil pressure gauge. It's pressure your after and it's an easy hook up and 100% reliable.

They sells a gauge kit that scews onto your oil filter housing, tells you the real PSI,
I know mac and snap-on sell it

That was the problem! Ive been running w/o any oil for a MONTH now. Holy shit!
I switched the lines, and volia. 80psi of oil pressure on the gague. Wicked nocking soon faded, then vanishes. Damn engine is purring and loping again like a champ. My god, now i Truely believe that ford makes one awsome engine! No oil for a month, and it still runs like new :D:D

It was getting a little amount of oil. But not mutch. Not enough to register on the gague anyway. WHen i bumped the starter with one of the lines off, some oil came out. But when i switched lines, ALot of oil came out. Im taking bets now to see how long the 302 will last :D

Oh, funny thing. Get it fixed, then the fuel pump gives up the ghost. Thats another 100 bucks. Geez. Im wondering if this truck is up to full time daily driving.
