: 02 Vortec 4.3 to th350...Torque conv. issues coleman1001 09-28-2007, 01:29 PM Trans planting a 02 Vortec out of a S10 Blazer in to my Flattie. The problem I ran into is the trans(Th350) bolted up fine to the engine but the torque converter is about a .50" away from the flexplate (used an earlier s.b. Gm flexplate for correct bolt pattern). CWhy didn't you use the flexplatel for the 4.3L. coleman1001 10-01-2007, 11:40 AM I was told right up front with people that have tackle this before on the 96-01 motors and said you must change out the the earlier flexplate for the correct bolt pattern.
