On Saturday I picked up a '74 crew cab (just the cab) that someone wanted rid of - case of beer in trade. It's actually in pretty good shape. I'm thinking of setting this on my '77 M880, which is regular cab, long-box, and low miles (50K). Figuring I'll pull the bed, pull the front clip, swap cabs, and flatbed it. Looks like the back of the cab will come to a little forward of where the rear wheelwell opening is now. I saw a pic of one that they'd taken the back of the crew cab and welded it onto a standard cab, but that seems like a lot more work than necessary. NM will issue a clean title for a "reconstructed" vehicle that's got more than one VIN, so legality is not an issue. Anyone here done something like this? Thoughts? Comments?
