If anyone is comming to colorado to wheel this summer the only places you will be able to use are private property trails.
The forest service and blm are going to close all public lands do to the high fire danger. The trees over at durango were cored for moisture content and the tests came back at 4 to 4 1/2 % moisture. Kiln dried lumber is usually around 12%. On the other hand if you do come to colorado each person bring a gallon of water to put in our water supply systems.

That's gonna be quite a challenge in my neck of the Arapahoe and Roosevelt National Forests. There's homes all through there, and they can't close the roads, cause then people couldn't get to their homes... Between Central City and St. Mary's Glacier, there's a network of forest service roads, and some fair wheeling, and a lot of homes.

Don't remind me. :( Here I am finishing my Toyota axle swap and all the areas are getting closed. The fire already burned up a couple of local trails. I hope Independence stays open. I ran Liberty when I had my 33's, but I wanna run through Patriot with the new 35's. I also wanna head out to 21 road and Blanca this summer. Hope they stay open just a little bit longer. :( ~Steve

Yeah, 21 road is right outside of Grand Junction. Our club was supposed to run it back in May, but everybody wussed out. I'd like to hit it this summer, or maybe this fall when it cools off a bit. ~Steve

I've heard that most everywhere is 5% and less!! It sprinkled this afternoon here for 5 mins, and looks threatening right now!
