My 4.0 XJ is leaking coolant from the back of the headgasket. I want to get the head rebuilt/exchanged while I have it off. Any recommendations for a place to get this done. I would be fine just dropping mine off and getting one with new springs, guides, exhaust valves.
Thanks

I'm with Dan... Roseville Engine Machine. Talk to Marshall. I just had my 304 completely done over there. They're very nice folks and extremely helpful. Oh, they do nice work too... :D:D

The word of mouth that I have always heard was to go to either of the two places listed above...I don't think that you would go wrong with either one.
Glenn: Did you get that mando running yet? How bad was the motor? I kinda wanna see that thing since I never did get a chance to look at it.

I don't know what a head job goes for these days ;) though I'll bet they know in chit chat :grinpimp:
I would just call and ask for a ballpark from them. Until they see it I would expect the price to have a range depending on what needs to be done and what can be reused.

It already don't look anything like it did. We pulled the engine and it was pretty shot. Three bad valves and all the bearings were bad so it's getting basically all new engine stuff. My son has been working the paint. He lightly wet-sanded the heavy oxidation off and compounded it with the buffer. Next comes the polishing job and a nice wax job. Some paint under the hood and the grill, put the engine back together and it's gonna be sweeet... :D:D:D
