I have an 86 suburban v10 with a 10 bolt rear end and drum brakes, I would really like to upgrade to a stronger rear end (preferably 14 bolt) with disks already installed. anyone have any advice what year and model to look for to get the donor axle?

IIRC the semi float version should be a bolt in, with the full float you'll have to move the spring pads. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

I have a 87 V20 and swapped out a 14b sf to a 14b ff and it was a bolt in. I think you have to move the spring pads on the dualley axle but I didn't look it up. I measured them before I bought it.

.......to me that would still be a bolt in....such a minor technicality....:D
