I wanted to put a diesel in there, but the more I thought about it, finding a donor vehicle, rebuilding a 6.5, the more of a pain in the ass it seemed. Plus I have a 383 waiting to be assembled that will work great.

The 383 has a compression in the low 9's and I am going to reuse the heads. I already have a westers programed computer so thats not a worry, what else is there. Since the truck already has headers, is there an upgraded intake manifold I could use? Would a cam swap be a bad idea? I have an Edelbrock performer cam I was planning on already. The truck is a daily driver (thank God work pays for my gas) so it doesn't need to win drag races or pull 15k loads.

let me know what you think and if i have missed anything. Westers already said the stock injectors will work fine for my application and I realize I will need to run premium from now on.

thanks
micky

What year is the 383 and specs as well.

You need to swap everything of the 350 you will need the front timing cover, the crank trigger and ring.

YOu could swap to a Marine intake for $$$! But just reuse the stock one and remove the EGR and clean and replace the injectors with the new style. http://www.pacific-audio.com/performance/messages/231640.html
35 Pics of Cannon's L31 MPI Upgrade!

CamLots of choice I think some are using LT4.

I would search here for guy named HOG

He knows Vortec 350's and such!
