I got some performance wheel spacers and started to notice a funny sound from my rear axle. It sounds like a dried up leaf is stuck between the rotor and the pad. That's the best way I can explain it. A guy told me it was the wheel spacer creeking and that they do it all the time. It can be pretty loud at times and does it often, but randomly. There is no set times it will do it. i can hear it with the radio even turned up.
Anyone else hear of this? It sounds like it could be the aluminum sandwiched between the steel?
Anyone?

I've got 1.5" Performance spacers on my Blazer - 14BFF rear - and no noise or anything. Have you checked the torque on the spacers? Never heard of that creaking sound..............

Not sure of the coating on performance wheel spacers, but you need to have some kind of coating between the aluminum and steel. The galvanetic reaction of dissimilar metals will start to corrode the aluminum possably causing the wheel to loosen over time. Coat em with a thick grease and retourqe them, see if it helps. Just a thought, but I deal with this all the time on boats.
