I just got a tire groover, how do the blades fit in?

Well don't know what kind you got, but the one I have its easy...

The blade gets compressed to look like a U then goes over the groover head but underneath the two square tabs that hold the blade to the head....

If that doesn't help I guess I can shoot a digi-pic for ya...

You take the blade with the sharp edge and point it toward the the tip of the groover. Loosen the screw holding the two little square black pieces. Squeeze the blade and insert between the black pieces...with the sharp toward the pointy end and then adjust to the depth you desire and tighten screw. Plug it in and let the rubber fly!!!

For a word of advice...let it preheat for a while(about 10-15 mins) it will then slice through the tires no prob...also you are supposed to rub the tip ahead of your cutting to "preheat" that makes it easier too...have fun and dont cut too deep!!!:D

Are you being serious? Yes the blade goes down on the beveled side like your pic shows. Yes, do let it heat up for 10-15 minutes. Yes, do wear gloves, it gets HOT. Yes, do make sure the sharp edge points away from the handle. Yes, all of this is on the one page instruction sheet that should have come with your groover.

Still

I didn't get a sheet, hence all the questions!!!!!:flipoff2:
There is nothing wrong with asking questions, why would I want to screw up a 38.5sx? Pride....I don't think so.

I'll trade my already grooved 33" 'turds for your ungrooved SXs so you want have to ask anymore question's. :flipoff2:

Here are a few Grooving tips I have learned. 1 When not using the tool I hook the handle on a table so that the hot part of the iron is pointed up. Heat rises so if you let the hot iron hang down it will heat the handle pretty quickly. 2 Get the tire warm if you can. I put it in front of a heater to preheat a section at a time but since it is summer just put them out in the sun. A warm tire cuts much easyer.

Yep... that handle will get hot and you can damage it if you heat it long enough. Definitely do not lay it down in such a way that the handle is above the heating source.

Snatch block: I think I _might_ still have the one page sheet... could scan it if you really want it. But I think everything has been pretty much covered now.

Set the depth, plug it in and GFI.
