Warn has full snap rings too. I've never run Mosers, but I have had Warns for a couple years now and they are good axles. Far superior than OEM.

I just got myself a set of Warn's through Dutchmann.(Custom Widths) Got them with the full circle snap rings. Had to get the snap rings from Moser. Warn alloy is of better quality then Moser's imo.

Moser is a good axel... it is only surface hardened though. Warn is a through hardend axel meaning it's temper is all the way through the axel.. you cal both mfg and each will say their axel is superior. having the ears hardened is an advantage and disadvantage. the ears may be brittle and fracture from a hard u-joint break where as the moser may deform a bit since the yoke is not hardened. My personal opinion. the warn shaft is superior. that is what I ran in my d-44 for 2 years and never broke an axel. I run mosers in my 60 front.

I'm running the warns in a D44 w/ no probs at
all . 38" swampers and a small v-8. Fine prod
uct in the warn axles, but have a set of Mosers in rear w/ a full spool and no probs there either . Just my .02 worth ! dump'

ok looks like the Warn's are the choice, now what about the snap rings, i guess WARN does not include them? i know some said Hardware stores sell them, but they are just a little to small, should i get the snap rings from moser?

eg 68 on here brokehs brand new moser the first time out. he bent the ears, if you think its hard to get a stock 44 out after roaching the ears, think about a moly shaft took em like 3 hours to get it past the knuckle. he was running the box on cleanup, and he only has 38s
i would try warns even though, they dont have the same amount of steel on the yoke

anyone, anyone, anyone, I got some snap rings from Six States, they are thinner, but will it matter?

I'm not sure if you can get them from WARN. Like I said, I got my Warn axles from Dutchmann (Dutchmann cuts them to length) and they didn't have the full circle clips. Moser will charge you $3.00 per clip. Kinda pricey for a snap ring if you ask me.

I got my snap rings for like .89 each, but they are thinner than the little cap retaining clip that comes with the u'joint

Warn pn 9298. They are a little thin but work fine.

Send me an e-mail. I have the correct size and thickness c-clips for the 297's in Warn axles. They are a metric size and are a perfect fit. You pay shipping to where ever you are.
