Just finished my lift on my 1979 CJ7 and am getting ready to get wheels.
What width and backspacing are you guys running?
I'm wanting to go with a 15x8 rim to get more bulge out of the sidewall. With a 4" bs am i still going to be able to turn the damn thing?
mr overkill

Go with the 4" spacing, common and cheap. You won't get full turning radius though. Get some spider trax wheel spacers(1.25" thick) and you will get full radius

I presently have 15X8 with IIRC, 3.5" (or 3.625") of BS. I also have 32X11.50 TSL/SX tires that are a disappointing 30.5" tall. They hit the spring and the front sway bar until I adjusted the turning stops.

My next tires will be the 34X9.50 TSL's or a 35X10.00 tire.
I would suggest running the wheel spacers if you are going to run any sort of wide tire. I may end up using them myself depending on how the Jeep turns.

If you are buying wheels, get them with 2.5" bs. Spacers and adaptors suck.
Travis..

how much am i looking at cost wise on getting wheels in a 2.5 bs over a 4? I was looking to go on the cheap with some steel wheels (Cragar soft 8's) and im not finding them in a 2.5. Does anyone make a similiar wheel in 2.5?
I know this is basic, but thanks for the help.
