: T-case in '98...

I have a '98 ext. cab 1/2t, and am planning on a SAS. My np241 just took a shit, and I need passenger side droop anyways, and I happen to have a 70's 3/4t parts truck. It has a 14b rear and I have no idea what's in front yet (haven't looked). It's a 4 speed manual, and my '98 is auto. I'm wondering if the transfer case is going to be swappable to my '98? I've already used the rear driveshaft from the 3/4t in my 1/2t since I threw a 14b SF 6 lug in the rear after my 10bolt died, and everything was exactly right (except for the length of course). Both have slip yokes and the spline count on the yoke was the same. I've been trying to look up specs on both t cases (241 and whatever might be in my parts truck, think its a 208?) and stumbled across a site finally that said the 208 came 27 spline, which I believe the 241 is, and 32 spline. The 27 spline came behind the th350 or 700r4, and 32 spline behind the th400 or sm465... I assume the tranny in my 3/4t is a 465, but according to this site that would make it a 32 spline... But then would the slip yoke still have matched up, or am I wrong on what I have?

If someone could help a newbie out I'd much appreciate it :)

Being late 70's it could be a 10 spline with a coupler to the t/case which will be either a 203 or 205. Not gonna work. Find a pass. 241 so u can still have your VSS for the tranny to shift properly, or else get ready for lots of headaches and hours of searching to a VSS hooked up for that auto.

But then would the output splines still have been the same? And also, it's not full time 4wd, which the 203 were, right?

If it is a 205, I can make a doubler by using the adapter to mate it to a 203, right? (different project if it is a 205)

Input and output splines are different. A case can have a 10 spline input but a 32 spline output.

All GM slip yokes that I've ever seen are the standard 32 spline.

ok, thanks guys
Again though, I'm not all that familiar with doublers, does the 205 part of it have to be divorced already? Or if mine is a 205 can I use it?
