From the website:

"Clear Gearz covers are made of polycarbonate and surrounded by a polished billet aluminum ring. This combination adds up to extreme high strength, good looks and uniqueness. Clear Gearz allows you to monitor oil levels, gear wear and the presence of moisture. Color dyes are also available to tint the oil to further personalize it to your vehicle. Clear Gearz have been extensively tested and proven to be stronger than any other cover currently made."

 BAWHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!

I am thinking of trying them.
worse case scenario I lose purchase price and a gallon of gear oil.
they cannot be any weaker then the aluminum or thin chrome jobs

i hear they they only work well in conjunction w/ neon green shock boots

guess you've done everything else to your rig and are looing for that one last thing to waste...uh, spend $$$ on.

id get one, and then get a rock ring to protect it, i think its damn cool, all they need now is clear motors like that visible v8 model my friend used to have

yea maybe if they didnt cost more than my rear axle did. I hear camo was trying to get the rainbow dye for his new rig. any luck?

It would be cool for mud and water crossings cause you wouldn't have to open em up to check for contamination.

Oh that's right, y'all don't have mud or water crossings :flipoff2:

Seeing as how they cost money, I doubt if they're in my near future, but the guy that sells them does claim they are damn near indestructable....so you know what that means! LOL

i would fully pimp one of those, just for fun. i think they would look pretty cool with one of those catchers mask guards over it. Might as well have one poser part on the rig just to laugh at.

I should call and ask about him making one for my Toy's IFS rear axle:rolleyes:

Yes I know the toys don't have inspection covers...

Not a problem for us mudders...it just mixes in with the mud and noone notices :flipoff2:

Joking aside, what's the big deal with spilling oil if you clean it up and wash the baby seals off real good? Don't you rock guys spill some oil when y'all rollover? Just sayin, if that is in fact the worst case scenario, doesn't seem that big of a calamity...we won't know how strong they are until someone tests them out.

I can remember well a time when Glocks were viewed as "junk plastic guns". Now they're issued to PD's all around the world.....

I think that's pretty :rainbow: but I will admit my neighbor has a battlebot that he competes with and that polycarbonate is stronger than it looks he gets hit by 60mph spinningbots with blades on the side and the thing is yet to shatter. I guess it makes your pretrip inspection go faster huh:flipoff2:

That is not the only poser part on that rig. I didn't see a front driveshaft. Cover must have been to expensive.

I think that that could indeed be usefull, You could see inside maybe if you broke a rear locker or something then you could actually see it before you pulled the cover. If they could take a real beating better than The thick Dana covers than I think they would be cool:beer:

Seems like a no brainer to me. Lay your rig on its side, yank yer axle out and pour it down the axle tube. :flipoff2:

It actually held up better than I would have expected in the 4 Wheel & Off-Road comparison test:

But I really like the Molten Image one the best.

This cover was on display at FST for a few months. Anyone could smack it with the hammer as a test. After awhile there were a few nice dimples in the cover. Then one day one of the guys wifes gives it a try and it shattered to pieces :D
