Was 'surfin today, looking for info on electro lockers... Dropped an email to Eaton to get the skinny on their upcoming product. Here's their response:
"The Dana 44 version of the
ELocker is currently scheduled for release in mid-late 2003 (subject to change). No comparison data has been generated as of yet!!
Thanks for your interest in our performance differentials."
JIC, anyone else is searching for info on these buggers.

I don't know how great they'll be for serious wheelers. From what I saw on their site, it takes some revolution of the carrier to get the actuator to "ramp" up and actually lock, so its not really an instant lock/unlock type deal.
It also makes me wonder if it unlocks when you back up?
Kinda like POS Toy automatic hubs...? :barf:

I'm still waiting to see what the Detroit electric locker is all about, too.
cbassett- i was looking at your pics and was planning something similar with the front suspension on my XJ. When you get a chance, could you tell me the distance between the frame ends of the radius arms. i'd like to use ford radius arms, but i'm hoping they'll tuck between the frame rails.

Yeah, I'm more interested in the Tractech (detroit) electrolocker too.
It'll be an LSD when not engaged, and a full locker when engaged.
I've extended my radius arms 10". If you run std length arms your measurement will be different. It will also depend on where you locate the c-bushing mounts on the axle. HTH,

Thanks, that does help. I plan to use std length for now. The inside of the frame rails are about 26" apart. I figure the axle end should be about 30"apart, so it looks like there will be room.
My axle mounts are already off the tube, so I plan to rotate the arms upward a bit.
If the Tractech unit is possibly a Truetrac in unlocked mode, I wonder about it's durability even when locked?
