ok i know its been gone over... ive searched.

Has anyone heard RECENTLY if there are any spools or mini spools available for the 14 bolt yet. last i heard there were some companys "working on it" but no hard info. randy's said "i dunno i think lemmy see what i can find out"

im building the 14 right now and im not going to order the detroit till the whole rig is back together, if i can find a spool though it would be the best thing for me because like all you guys im TIRED of the ass wobble when you get on and off the gas.


and i know i could weld it but thats going to throw the balance off slightly and this is a daily driver for me (when its in 1 peice)

drivetrain direct shows a minispool in their add for 'bout $200

just talked to dtd and they are going to be the exclusive seller of the 14 bolt mini spool (until somene else catches up) they have an order coming in of about 150 in a couple weeks. i ordered one, he said as soon as they come in one is on its way to me. ill try to post some pics when it gets here. i hope its high quality. price was 209$. not bad just over 100 bucks cheaper then a detroit and no ass wobble WHOOHOO!!!!

for an extra $100, I think I'd rather have the full-case Detroit than a mini spool.

hey sundowner... the 14 bolt detroit isnt a full case its a lunchbox style locker.

rubi.... i thought of that and after alot of thought since i drive it as much as i do on road i dont want to throw the case out of balance with the welds, i know it may sound stupid but i just dont want to have to worry about it. with the mini spool i can always throw the side gears and spiders in my toolbox incase something happens on the trail.

You calling that thing a hunk of sh!t, two piece, little spring and pin having, lunch box locker???? Big difference between a 14 bolt Detroit which fits inside that massive carrier and a "lunch box locker" IMO.

Time to put down the crack pipe Dusty. The reason the entire case isn't replaced is because the 14 bolt case is the only one strong enough to handle a Detroit. It doesn't need a new case! I've got a few friends that put Detroits in their 14FF's. When I was going to weld the spiders I just got some of the spiders from them, cleaned them, and welded them. Then all I had to do was the swap and the truck wasn't down for long (I don't have a welder)...I also now have a spare set of spiders/cross pin (not that I would ever bring them with me).

i.e. is DOES replace the spider gears only and not the case.
besides, DP has said so many blatantly stupid things in the past, that you're kinda blowing your wad on the easy stuff...:flipoff2:

cme.... dude re-f'n-lax!!!! i said "lunch box style" because of HOW there installed. luncy box lockers go INSIDE the carrier.... well this one does too. Yes i know the case is strong as a motha fuga.... i know this mmmaaannnnn. :smokin: hell wasnt doin this to start a piss'n match lets scrutinize every word i say for christ sake. Im wrong all the time and i say stupid sh#% on a regular basis... must be the toxic bob fumes gettin to me.

anyways as most people have been trying to find out in the last year YES a spool is now available.

Randy's is developing a full spool, it should be out in a few...

Yeah I know I went off. I didn't read it that he was referring to how it's installed though. I read it as though he was comparing it to a lunchbox locker in strength and manners. Read bigdude's reply and notice he read it the same way. I also know about some of the :rainbow: posts in the past. Like the multiport injected, tunnel ram small block for the CJ or some crap like that. This one was the straw that broke the camel's back though. Hence the nitpicking. Reminds me of a friend who went off on me once and said. "You know that thing sitting on top of your neck?.....Use it!".:flipoff2:
