i'm sure it has been beat to hell.
but what the hell:
i've got a toyota, this winter i'm going to swap in the chevy 63" spring on the rear and use the rears up front. i'm thinking i want a lot more flex and am contimplating using the eliptical stuff.
what the difference between 1/4, 1/2, and 3/4? i'm a newbie to these eliptical things!
i love pictures too!
thanks and let the flamers start! <IMG SRC="smilies/pissed.gif" border="0"> <IMG SRC="smilies/biggrin.gif" border="0"> <IMG SRC="smilies/flipoff.gif" border="0">

2 springs on top of each other
so normally sprung would be 1/2 circle
______

just one spring facing up
3/4 would be:
_______

one spring facing up, half a spring attaching to it facing down
1/4 would be:
_______

half a spring facing up
Does that make any sense?
Someone have pics?

what you cal 1/2 is a standard leaf spring setup, 1/4 uses about half of a leaf spring with one end mounted solidly to the frame and the other mounted to the ave via a shackle, heim or whatever. 3/4 is simply a standard leaf spring with a buggy, meaning at the rear of the spring where the shackle mounts to the frame, instead of mounting to the frame the shackle bolts into the end of another half spring which is attached at the other end to the frame. In the case of 1/4 you need to loccate the axle somehow meaning 3 or 4 link, with the standard leaf and the buggy, the leaf spring locates thwe axle. And yes with a buggy you can clamp it to the frame while on the street
