I have a 1997 Pathfinder that I need to replace the bushing that supports the rear axle driveshaft. However, the dealer or any parts stores for that matter don't show that the bushing exists. This is the bushing that fits in the back half of the case in the nose that supports the rear output shaft.
I even looked at the parts cataloge on www.courtesyparts.com and it is not listed in the parts diagrams.
Please help, I cant get my case back together without this bushing.
I can't find a place to buy this bushing anywhere.

There's no bushing that supports the rear driveshaft that I've ever seen.
Are you talking about the seal on the rear output of the t-case that seals around the slip yoke?
Can you post a pic of what you're talking about?

I have a feeling you're gonna be SOL on that one. I had to go look at my spare case this morning to figure out exactly what that was.
What did you take it out in the first place? Is it badly damaged? I'd look at getting a machine shop to clean it up and reuse it.
What did you have to do to the t-case?

I have installed crawler gears in a few tx10s. Never seen that part before. I had a 96 R50 Pathy. Never seen that part.
I just looked in FAST for 97. That part does not exist. Are you sure its a TX10 and not an AWD tcase?

Well, after tons of phone calls and hours of research; I found that you can NOT buy this bushing separate. If I ever meet the jackazz that decided this...:mad3:
Anyways, the only way to purchase this is with the back half of the case = $367.00
I am currently having a local machine shop make me one and I will tell you how that turns out when I get it back.

It's deffinitely in there, I checked my spare case that's laying in pieces on my garage floor. It's probably just not meant to come appart from the case.

What were you doing that required you to take the case that far appart any way?
Hate to say it, but you probably could have found a used case for under a hundred bucks. I have 3 of them sitting in my garage.

The reason I pulled the old bushing was it was loose enough to allow the driveshaft to move up and down enough to cause the seal to leak. I have replaced many other bushings on the output shafts of other vehicles. EVERY other car manuf. sells replacement bushings, or at least the aftermarket does.
Anyways, my local machine shop fabed one up out of brass for $30

Got a pic? Or did you install it already?
