: stupid idea??
icb12 10-09-2007, 09:12 PM 200 bucks nets me a 93?(I think)
f350 crewcab. with I guess it would be the 460..:smokin:
another 850 dollars could net me 4 44" boggers on 8lug beadlocks, tires have 65-70 % tread left.
Im thinking yes...
maybe a 100 dollar body lift and cut the holy piss out of the fenders. buy some gears, weld the rear. beat the shit out of it.
soo.. in all honesty would I be better off with an ebay lift like a rough country 4" or is that stupid thinking and stick with the body lift theory because its not really gonna matter?? either way the fenders will meet mister sawzall but I was just curious. the lift kit gonna be worth the extra 200 bucks?
and related question/theory. Am I correct in thinking I could use the driveshaft out of a reg cab f350 and relocate my rear axle and effectively shorten the gifuckingnormus wheelbase..??
does any of this make sense or is this a stupid ghey idea?
bigreen 10-09-2007, 10:33 PM fawkin sweet
fordman1978 10-09-2007, 10:35 PM sounds like a good deal to me.
get a small body lift and some ebay add a leaves front and rear and do a shackle flip good old fashioned cheap ass redneck lift.
i think you are correct in your thinking with the driveshaft
Pt_Ranger_V8 10-09-2007, 10:44 PM body lift and sawzall the shit ouuta it
It's not hard to relocate the rear axle, just takes a lot of time to get the fawkin' rivets out of the frame. Then you redo the brake lines, and you're golden :smokin:
mustange70 10-10-2007, 04:01 PM Or how bout no body lift and build some srop hangers and shackles front and rear for 4" and then go ape shit with the sawall on the fenders.

Although not a fan of body lifts, gotta love the plan for its simplicity. I do it and beath the shit out of it :smokin:
icb12 10-10-2007, 08:07 PM like minded souls.. cool.
found a miniature muskeg on the dash today. that was fun. and a family of mouses under the back bench seat...
starved my sisters cat for 3 days and locked it in the rig for half an hour.
mouse problem fixed. cat full.
im kidding about the cat.. just incase anyone is opposed to starving pussies.
Proeliator 10-10-2007, 08:13 PM wtf is a muskeg

gfbgreaser289 10-10-2007, 08:23 PM even better then spending alot of money. get stock front leaves from a 2wd cab and chassis 1 ton f350 around the same year they have a solid beam in them and have one hell of an arch on them also. they are good for about 6 lift and about $100 for a pair at napa.

interesting. very interesting (said while stroking completely bald chin)..
that is a good idea. and what do you propose for the rear? or does the same apply?

JeepJerrySeinfeld 10-11-2007, 01:28 PM Go buy some cheap block for the back and springs for the front then peice together the rest of the crap you need I would not suggest a body kit even though i have one, but your talking about a huge body lift.
TroyM 10-11-2007, 03:10 PM there's a guy around here with a 94 or so f250 with a dana 60 swapped in running a 3 inch body lift and 44 boggers. No lift no steering mods nothing. Fenders hadn't been touched so it probably rubbed like a mofo. I was quite surprised that you could fit that size of tire on only a 3 inch body lift.

Yeah...blocks are SO muych better than a body lift :shaking:
fordman1978 10-11-2007, 06:08 PM its only a stupid idea if you dont do it.

first i heard of it was when fordman mentioned it earlier,, and now you. so i will.
thanks chief.
JeepJerrySeinfeld 10-30-2007, 02:08 PM Yeah...blocks are SO muych better than a body lift :shaking:
i am not talking about 8 inch blocks but ya if i was going to do a four inch lift i would rather have it block in the rear than 4 inch body spacers. Of course the best way would be to get lift springs in the back, shackle flip and whatever but this is on a budget. any way to each thier own
