Before you all start bitchin', i've been "searching" all day. I'm getting ready to do my tub swap. Can anyone point me to a good thread or web site that specifically deals with the swap. Pics are great and all, but I'm not a seasoned mechanic and will be doing this myself. I need some technical help. Looking forward to the "flavored"replies.

Oh, This newbie finally figured out how to delete a thread, still working on the photo attachment though. PM me if you might want to help me with it.

I'll probably beat you to it. I have about 5 weeks to get it done. If not, it will have to wait till November. Freedom calls!

tub swap as in your are removing the body? If so, there are a lot of little things you will need to chase. things like fuel filler and vent lines, brake lines, steering, wiring, wiring and more wiring, spped-o cable, etc. Lots of little stuff. Once that is all clear, remove the body mounts and slowly lift the body off. it is a good idea to use a floor jack and some wood for the initial lifting as you will probably find several things you missed.

What I would probably benefit most from would to know exactly where all the body mounting points/bolts are at. The rest would be lable and disconnect. Anyone?

Have you lied under your truck? It shouldn't be hard to see them.

2 under the front grill
2 at your feet
4 under the rear deck
2 in the rear tail gate.

total =10

thats a roger 10 bolts , just remove the shifters and you don't have to lift the body so high, just do it slowly so you don't rip any thing apart(fuel sending unit wire comes to mind). be careful most of the wires are attached to the body with those funky bendable tabs. hasta!

Its alot easier than it sounds. We stripped zuke #3 last year at my bros house. From start to lifting off tub was ~1.5 house (while drinking too)

If you ever make it up to my place I can point out all the things to watch out for....
