Can anybody tell me what the original application is for the Spicer part # 3-82-871 stub shaft (the 35 spline one that fits in the Chevy D60)? As in what kind of truck it would have come in? I found a Spicer part # for the internal drive flanges, 620861, but what I'm really trying to figure out is if there was ever a lock out hub option on the original application, and if so are parts still available.

Yeah, I tried it too, w/the same (lack of) result. Thanx anyway. I tried calling Drivetrain Industries yesterday, they told me the pn was no good. I told them I was holding a new one in my hand.

Try industrial duty pick-up trucks, like a 1.25 to 1.5 ton Fords and Dodges, Forestry trucks and Fire-units I have specifically seen and heard. And I believe it all newer stuff like late '90s and '00's..?
I think I recall that is was from some kind of heavy machinery - a loader or something of that sort.

Post 90 Dodge 1 tons use a Center disconnect D60 with 35 spline outers.
Dynatrac sells the 35 spline hubs for Dodge Front D60's

The 3-82-871 stub axle is used in dana 70BF front axles assemblies. These axles are the open knuckle style dana 70 front. The axles are used in very heavy duty light trucks(under 2 1/2ton) such as Ford f550 forestry trucks or resecue and firetrucks. The dana 70 BF front axle is an "offhighway equipment" axle also used in forklifts, pavers, tow motors and etc...According to the spicer catalog/index it was never proguced with lockouts..Only the old style closed knuckle 70's had lockouts. They used an external hub..Warn makes 35 spline lockouts for the internbal style hub...and the external style 35 spline lockout has long been discontinued.Hope this helps.
