: Body lift ?

I've never been a fan of body lifts, so I've never installed one. Anyways, I get a slight rub when turning and going over a speed bump. Wouldn't you know there is one I can't avoid in my apartment complex. I don't have the money for a suspension lift right now so I'm thinking a 2 inch body lift. So my question is, what all is involved in doing a 2" body lift on a mid/late 80's K5 Blazer ? Shifter linkage ? Steering shaft ? What kind of headaches am I likely to run into ? Almost thinking going to a electric fan at the radiator.

you rub on speed bimps? wtf... what are you running for tires...
btw..... do a google search if you can't find installation instructions by searching it's likely this job is over your head

do a shackle drop in the front and blocks in the rear

do a shackle drop in the front and blocks in the rear

the shackle drop in the front will only ruin the front axles pinion angle, and give you half as much lift as the length of the additional length of the shackle.

if youre gonna do it, do it right, dont half ass it.

front springs only cost a couple hundred bucks, about 50-60 bucks more than the body lift.

you dont need to get 15 inches of lift out of it. just get enough to clear your tires.

oh... the sawzall is your friend.

Get a 1" body lift from www.offroaddesign.com which is just about the easiest thing to install this side of a hanging cup holder.

My neighbor told me about ORD. It's a 87 K5 stock suspension currently. Next spring I want too do 3" EZ rides front and a 4" Shackle flip rear. For now, I was thinking a 2" body lift. I've got 32x11.50x15 Cooper Discoverer A/T's. It only rubs on the front right when taking a right over the speed bump. It catches the mud flap. My neighbor said I should just trim the fenders. I just don't want too because they are rust free.
