: Las Cruces or Independance trail system?
Ok the plan is in the spring of 2002.
Now the question is which one? If we go to las cruces we can do about 5 days of wheeling and the rest of the vacation will be driving to and fro.
If we do Independance trail system it only takes 24 hours of driving to get there and 24 to get home.
We can stay at friends houses if we go to CO.
We can run Holy Cross, Die Trying, and at least one more.
las cruces means we wheel with a guide. But thats not a big deal cause 2 of us have been there before.
CO. means we don't need a guide as one of us has lived there and knows the area.
What to do? Money of course is an issue. But so is getting the most for our money.
If we break in CO we know were we can get stuff fixed.
If we break in NM. we have to hunt for a place to rebuild.
What would you do?

give me a month, and most likely yeahhh
4x4runner 09-28-2001, 12:59 PM Indy is a great trail, but Holy cross is not near as challenging as indy. and i hear montrose is probably even more tuffer than indy. ive never been to NM, so all i can say is that indy is a fun one, and definately worth the 2.5 hour drive it takes us.
Welby 09-28-2001, 01:16 PM Damn guys, yer makin' me green with envy

The month is going to be when Keith Senkow has spring break. I think its the first week of April.
Whatever the spring break for IUP is?
I called Dana and he is up for Las C.
He actually hasn't been to las c.
He went to Farmington NM. But said it was the shit!
Any one else like to play tour guide and come along, your welcome!
Lance 09-29-2001, 05:38 AM Go to Farmington. Las Cruces is
Lance 09-29-2001, 05:41 AM And if you were to go to Farmington, there are several people here on the board that are from Farmington who'd be happy to show you around. All the trails are only a couple miles from town. And they GET IT.
Hmmm, new input from someone thats been to both,,,
We might have to rethink this.
Jettech 09-29-2001, 06:00 AM Why don't you hit them all
First Indy ,it's on your way from PA,then Farminghton,It's Only about 200 miles from Penrose, then Montrose is right up the street, you can hit them all if you have time in a nice little circle pattern
Holy Cross won't be open yet in April so you can scratch that one off.

If it sounds to good to be true...
Seriously, do you think we could get all that done in one week?
Jettech 09-29-2001, 07:11 AM You could do it but it would be non stop, you probly want a little rest.
Maybe Farminghton,Montrose would be easier to do.
Rob
Shake 'N' Bake 09-29-2001, 08:41 PM I haven't been to Las Cruces but here is my opinion on the CO option.
Independence is two trails with a common beginning. Both have been run in one day several times. Alot of fun but not enough to base a vacation on. Also there is nothing else in the same class that is close.
As far as CO goes, Montrose is a far better choice. There are all the trails everyone has heard of and many more. Stop in at McPherson Off Road and they will give you directions.
