It exits the trail at about 9 miles in - about 1/2 a mile past the 3rd water crossing. It's kind of hard to make out. Look for a big metal wheel and then go right across the creek and then up and to the left. Follow the road out towards I80.

EDIT: Just realized you want directions to start at the Commitee Trail not exit there. I can't help you with road names, but if you have a GPS here are the coordinates; N 39 22.386 W 120 30.610

when you park at the cisco grove camp. (have to pay 15 bucks)
if no one is there there are envlopes on the phone booth put the money in the door (with a vehical desc)
the dirt road that goes up the hill right next to the parking lot take that.
go about 8-9 miles and you come down a big hill and end up right next to fordyce lake. on your left (near some camping areas) there is a road. looks kinda narrow (trees are all around it)
take that and that drops you right down on the river crossing!

hope this helps out!

The road that connects down from Fordyce Lake to Fordyce Creek can be tough to find, especially if there is snow on it.

Here's how I direct folks: go to Fordyce Lake Dam, and then backtrack. The connector road is the first downhill opportunity on the right, to the north.
