i currently own a 97 f-350 crew cab4x4 and i am looking at a 99 superduty f-350 crewcab 4x4. well the thing only has 52k on it and everything is mint on it but the front springs squeek pretty bad! especially the drivers side. is this common? it is coming from the front spring mount. i'm sure i could remove it and lube it up but i just thought i'd ask. thanks

Finally , someone else w/ spring squeak . My 99 ' f- 350 squeaks like hell in the frontend , specially on drivers side . Dealer advised it just neded to be lubed , can't get straight answer on whether it is a spring eye bushing squeak or the leaves rubbing together . I
will prolly' tear down and use synthetic disc brake caliper grease on everything ! :flipoff2:

on this one i can grab the grill guard and shake the truck and it is coming fromt the spring eye. at least that is what it sounds like to me.

Don't know what BS your dealers are telling you but I had this same problem with my '99 PSD SD and the dealer replaced swaybar links and the pads between the leafs under warranty for me! :D Only did it in cooler weather and now it's fine! My dads '99 PSD SD had the same problem and they fixed his too!

Most of the time it's the bushings that cause the squeak. I give mine a shot of lube every month or so when I do the oil change. I've got a 94 PSD F250, and when I first bought the truck it squaked like crazy. Now when I lube it as part of my regular maintanance I don't have the problem. The best bet would be to replace the bolts/bushing with the greaseable kind as they would go longer w/o squeaking - but I'm cheap so I give 'em a shot of spray...
