ok this is part rant part stupidity..
but what the fuck is a porporting value and why cant the dealer find me one ..

my brakes are locked up and with out the value they claim it wont work...

but my 79 nor 81 had this p.o.s. so if i rig up sum sort of connection and by pass this value will my breaks work and for how long?

from what i understand this is a early model type of abs.. is this so and can i throw it to the scrape pile ?

I haven't worked on a brake system from 67 vehicles on that don't have a proportioning valve.

When you first step on the brakes, the proportioning valve sends fluid to the rear brakes until they reach a certain pressure, then allows fluid to the front discs. It also limits the amount of pressure on the rear brakes so that they won't lock up and send the vehicle into a spin.
