My friend just got done putting a rebuilt TBI 4.3 in his 88 s-10 blazer. The problem is that when he starts the engine no fuel sprays from the injectors. The fuel pump is working because we disconnected the fuel inlet, turned it on, and fuel gushed out. We checked the wires going to the injectors and they have voltage. We also replaced the TPS and still no spray. Ignition module is new and there's spark....
what else can we check? How do you test a bad injector?...thanks

If you're getting voltage at the connector for the injector, then it's bad or clogged. I'd spend the cash and get some new ones, not junk yard pullouts. It may save you some time and money in the long run.

Don't just run down to the part store and ask for two injectors either... Get a good matched set (matched for flow rate). You would not believe what a night and day difference even that will make.
Umm, by the way, hate to ask, but are you sure you are getting enough voltage to the injector to work the solenoid?

you have voltage but do you have a good ground?? If the ground is faulty you will not get the injector to open therefore no fuel ..

The injectors fire when the computer grounds out one side of the injector. There should be power going to the injectors whenever the key is on.
If the computer isn't firing the injectors, check your park/neutral switch. If the computer thinks the truck is in gear or the clutch pedal is out, it won't start.
Is this a swap or did the '88 S-10 come with a TBI 4.3? If it's a swap I'd also make sure that you've got the switched power lead for the computer hooked up to a power source that stays on when the key is turned to the crank position. If you don't do this the injectors won't fire while the motor cranks. They'll work fine when the truck is running but they won't fire when cranking. I found this out the hard way during my swap :D
