: Help identify these pistons

I'm looking at this set of pistons for my rebuild, but don't know exactly what they are for. The guy claims they will work in anything with a 4" bore, but I know that the pin height etc play a big factor in this. I have attached an image of the end of the box he scanned for me. He said they came in a Kit if that helps. I've searched all over and have not been able to find any info on them.

Thanks.....

Well you didn't say how many there were. But the list of V8s with a 4.00Bore is:
Chev 350 4.0" x 3.480"
Ford 351 4.0" x 3.50
Ford 302 4.0 x 3.00
Ford 400 4.0" x 4.0"
Chrysler 360 4.0 3.580"
Poncho 301 4.0" x 3.00"

Cast or forged?
flat top?

The pin diameter will help a ton!

Also

Chevy 302 4.00" x 3.00"
Chevy 327 4.00" x 3.25"
Ford 289 4.00" x 2.87"

Anybody think of any other factory combos? Each of these will require a particular pin height, so yes, pin height plays a role...

Old Scout is right about the pin dia. too...are they press pins or bushed?

How about valve reliefs?

Are you bidding on these on eBay or something? I would pass if the guy doesn't know any more than that about them.
He can't even tell you the MFG?

What you see is all of the info I have. I was hoping to hunt them down by the part number. I know an L2256 is a forged 4 relief flat top, but I can't find this part number. It's an Ebay thing, and he's got them cheap, but doesn't know anything other than the fact that they are for a .040 over 4" bore. BTW there are 8.

Well, the only thing I found was that grants part number for 4" bore .040 over rings is 2271.

that box scan is too small for a piston box.
the ring response seems to be spot on.
walk away from that "deal"

Yeah, I think I will let it go. The guy just seems too short of info. I was just looking at saving a few bucks if it worked. Hell, it's a "buy it now" for $22.00 and that includes shipping.

Hell for $22 you can hardly go wrong. Buy 'em and take them to an engine/machine shop and have them ID 'em.
If it ends up that you can't use them you'll now have the correct info to properly list them on ebay and make a few bucks.:D

I dunno Old scout, maybe you should get an eye exam.
I see the box and the sticker.
every piston I have seen would not fit in the dimensions of that box.
if you have pistons that are 4" bore and less then 2" skirt hieght I would like to see them.
that is a scan of the ring's box.
